Thanks for the Vista help...

I noticed that I still have a problem.

I followed all your steps and banlist works great if I'm not hosting, but when I am, I get game name but no map name, nor any players that joined.
(such as I try /pingall and it says no1 to be pinged, when the room is full)

Any suggestions? I am gonna double check the WinPap version. I know it's 4.something, I'll make sure.

Also, could it be because of multihoming? I use 2 100tx net cards merged. and when i check NIC detector, it only lists them separately...

Thanks for any help.

Okay so you say you can host but the banlist does not seem to work at all when you host. Although when you do not host it works great, correct?

I would GUESS that it is cause you merging the nic's but since it works on not hosting I would think maybe not. Try some things out like not using both nics.

Thx that was my next step.

I also noticed some1 said wc3 should be using user priv? I had to set WC3 to Admin priv to be able to host at all. Unrelated?

Both should have Administrator Privileges so WC3 can host games and other things. WC3Banlist needs admin privileges so can get info from WinPCap and send/receive all the packets.

Yea, I thought that was the case.

I solved the problem... it seems vista doesnt support true multi-homing like xp did.

Each cards gets its own IP, and you cant merge them into 1 IP. I'm on a static net with 15 comps, and I found the IP for the NIC used by Banlist wasnt the same as the IP used by WC3. (one using one NIC the other the second).

So ne1 else with this problem, check network structure.... lol...

Thx again for your help...

I have a problem when downloading the Beta. I doinwloaded and saved the ZIP file in the WC3Banlist folder. But when afters its done, and I browse to it, The zip isnt there, but there are a bunch of other files. So does it auto-extract it? because if it did then it still doesnt let me use IE7. If it didnt, then I can't find the ZIP.

EDIT: Ok So i tried to re-download it and when it asks where to save it, I saw the ZIP, so i right-clicked it and hit explore but it says Access denied. So I downloaded it to the desktop and extracted it from there and I was able to give it permission to extract. Not sure if this helps anyone else.

Wow that was fun to read 0.0

I do not what you use to extract or view the zip but I just download it to desktop and use WinRar (Rarlabs.com) and right click choose open and then highlight all of the files and move them to the wc3banlist folder and it works great (of course I say yes to overwrite).

First of all.... nice faq about installation on Vista.

But it still dont work in right. Now before someone says infamous words Search or Administrator rights then I say to you save your breath because it wont help at
all or lead to nowhere. Because I have been there and done that and it didnt work/help.

I have tried wc3banlist with and without new beta patch. I also have tried with API-hook and GDI, UAC on and off and oh always on that nice little combobox called
Run this program as an administrator. WC3Banlist starts ok, it hooks API succesfully, it finds my WC3, but when I join the game I cannot see people on warcarft III snooping
window. It only shows game title which I have joined. Naturally when I try ingame use /fromall or /pingall nothing happens.

I have tried to install WC3banlist couple times allready. Last time I went precisely step by step of Senkin's guide, but still nothing.
So any fresh ideas?

and oh I have Vista Ultimate 64bit and ATI X1950XTX if that helps giving ideas.

Did you run the Diagnostics in Network to see what it said?

I can run it. What should I look from there? I know that wc3banlist finds my network card so problem shouldnt be there.

Run it while in wc3 in a pre game channel (just to test it) and then click copy to clickboard button and print the results here.
